Description of WorkAs a Finance Coordinator, you will:
Be responsible for ensuring finance transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Primarily execute and review non-catalogue purchase orders, standard contracts, individual journal entries and internal charges, batch journal entries and internal charges, service center budgets and service center rate development.
Provide guidance for sole source justification purchases, capitalized asset purchases, provide financial review and approval of travel expenses, and basic funds management.
Work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
Function under general supervision and utilize technology to provide professional services.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma plus three (3) years of related finance or accounting work experience; OR
Associate degree in a related field plus one (1) year of related finance or accounting work experience. Additional completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of finance terminology and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
Experience performing finance. tasks in a business setting
Experience functioning in a team environment.
Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and highly organized. They are an effective communicator and collaborator, capable of providing excellent customer service while upholding compliance standards. The candidate should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and using sound judgment to resolve issues. A commitment to continuous improvement, professionalism, and maintaining the integrity of financial processes is essential.
