Job Summary
The Operations and Data Specialist serves as a senior administrative and operational leader within the School of Nursing. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, this position provides strategic oversight of data infrastructure, accreditation and regulatory compliance systems, sponsored programs administration, and core operational processes. This role exercises independent professional judgment and discretionary authority in interpreting regulatory standards, designing evaluation frameworks, supervising administrative staff, and leading multi-year accreditation and compliance initiatives. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and is accountable for institutional readiness, regulatory alignment, and operational integrity.
Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Data & Evaluation Oversight
  • Design, implement, and oversee integrated data systems supporting accreditation, regulatory reporting, institutional assessment, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead complex data analysis related to enrollment, licensure outcomes, program effectiveness, and faculty qualifications to inform strategic planning and policy recommendations.
  • Serve as the School's primary liaison to Institutional Research and other campus data partners to ensure system alignment and reporting integrity.
  • Direct preparation of accreditation reports, self-study materials, and site visit documentation, ensuring audit-ready compliance.

Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance
  • Independently monitor, interpret, and apply CCNE and California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) regulatory standards, advising the Director of Nursing on compliance risk and corrective action strategies.
  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive accreditation compliance framework, including calendars, documentation systems, and evidence repositories.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the School's Systematic Evaluation Plan in alignment with CCNE standards and institutional effectiveness goals.
  • Exercise professional judgment in determining faculty regulatory compliance and maintaining program-wide documentation standards.

Grants & Sponsored Programs
  • Lead administrative coordination of grant development, pre-award compliance review, post-award oversight, and sponsor reporting throughout the grant lifecycle.
  • Monitor grant and operational expenditures, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and sponsor guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive grant administration systems to ensure fiscal integrity and regulatory compliance.

Operational & Supervisory Leadership
  • Oversee operational workflows within the School of Nursing, establishing accountability structures and process improvements.
  • Supervise School of Nursing administrative staff, including assignment of work priorities, workflow oversight, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Provide operational leadership for major School initiatives and administrative functions, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

Other Duties as Assigned
Experience and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in accreditation, regulatory compliance, higher education administration, data analytics, or sponsored programs management.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards to institutional operations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters of institutional significance.
  • Experience supervising staff and establishing operational frameworks.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic reporting capability.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
