NYTech’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Occupational Therapist located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.
Responsibilities
Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner, and submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department.
Utilizes thorough and appropriate evaluation techniques to establish realistic goals.
Designs and implements a treatment plan which best meets the needs of the patient and works toward achieving established goals.
Recommend and educate in the use of adaptive equipment for facilitation of activities of daily living.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
Preferred Degree: Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
Required Licensure(s): NYS licensed Occupational Therapist
Required Field of Expertise: Neurological Rehabilitation
Preferred Field of Expertise: Geriatric Rehabilitation
Preferred Training/Cert: Health and Wellness Certification
Competent in creating hand and wrist splints
Thorough knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations as it applies to the delivery of occupational therapy services, and ·complete visit notes within designated time frame.
Must be highly organized with strong communication skills, be patient oriented, and attentive to details.
CPR certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience is preferred.
