Job Description
Psychology Guest Position(s) 2026-2027
Rank: Guest Faculty
Tenure Information: Non-Tenure Track
Job Description
These positions include teaching both undergraduate and master’s level graduate students in both lecture and seminar classes at either the introductory or more advanced levels. The exact format of each course will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate. Seminar courses are typically capped at 15 students and include a seminar class and biweekly meetings with individual students to develop a semester-long independent project—conference work—which usually takes the form of a substantial literature review or other form of independent research project conducted under the instructor’s guidance. Lecture courses, capped at 45 students, include small group conferences rather than individual biweekly conferences, in addition to weekly lectures. In addition, we expect that some courses might involve supervising students doing course related fieldwork in community settings or at our campus laboratory preschool.

Sarah Lawrence College is committed to sustaining a diverse and inclusive learning, working, and living community. This requires students, faculty, administration, and staff who reflect the diversity of our society; that people from different backgrounds and with different views be prepared to treat one another with mutual respect and honest curiosity so that they can engage and learn from one another; and that diversity infuse all aspects of the life and mission of the College. These conditions enable a genuine liberal arts education, in which the presence of people with different experiences and ideas, engaged in critical dialogue, overcomes ignorance and builds trust and knowledge.
