RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Teaching:
- Teaches in the OTD program, which may include interdisciplinary coursework, using innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies and the use of electronic learning platforms.
- Participates in curriculum development and review for the OTD and curriculum development and review of the integrated curriculum with PT as assigned.
- OTD student advisement and mentoring; OTD capstone mentoring.
- Supports and promotes a collaborative and positive learning environment for students.
- Participate in post-professional teaching and mentoring as qualified and interested.
Research/ Scholarship:
- Participate in research/scholarship as defined by the University of Oklahoma and meet ACOTE standards for mentoring students in research and capstone experience projects.
- Maintain a consistent record of research/scholarship dissemination activities to include publications and presentations through local, national, and international opportunities.
- As interested and available, participation in mentoring students in post-professional doctoral thesis or dissertation committees, per OUHSC Graduate College policy.
Service:
- Participate in University, College, Department, and Program committees.
- Participate in and supervise clinical service activities that support the mission of the institution.
- Participate in the development of innovative and interprofessional outreach programs.
- Active participation in AOTA, OKOTA, and other professional associations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Occupational Therapist with an earned post-professional doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DrPH, OTD) or an Occupational Therapist with a Master’s degree who will finish a post-professional doctoral degree program within five years of hire.
- Candidate must be licensed in Oklahoma or meet all eligibility requirements for immediate Oklahoma Licensure.
- The successful candidate will contribute to interprofessional teaching, research/scholarship, service, and program support across professional programs in occupational therapy & physical therapy and the Tolbert Center.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post professional degree completed (e.g., PhD, EdD, DrPH, OTD).
- Contemporary knowledge in the Occupational Therapy Framework and OT theories & practice models.
- 3-5 Years of teaching experience in an academic setting.
- 3-5 Years of clinical experience.
- Experience with educational training grants.
- Evidence of research/scholarly contributions to the profession (i.e. presentations and/or publications at local, state or national level).
- Educational, clinical or research experience in pediatrics across diverse practice settings (e.g., hospital, schools, early intervention), assistive technology, and leadership/ management.
- Record of involvement with professional associations.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills through engagement and reflection.Strong computer skills and openness to new technologies.
