This role offers full, hands-on training across all responsibilities, preparing you to transition into a highly independent position. A caregiver in this position worksdays| 7:00am—3:30pm| no weekends or holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assistwith receiving,identifying, accessioning, processing, transporting, and storing specimens.
Operate laboratory equipment and performs routine instrument maintenance, troubleshootingand minor repairs.
Perform clerical duties including answering phones, dataentryand filing.
Perform Quality Assurance activities.
Maintain adequate stock of supplies;performsinventory management of transporting and distributing supplies.
Keep the work area safe and organized.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
3months on the job training to learn department lab procedures,instrumentationand Cleveland Clinic policies
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
1yearof lab or clerical experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials to which they may be exposed.
- Ability to utilize and operate instrumentation.
- Ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation and tones.
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $17.95
Maximum hourly: $25.50
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
