Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a motivated Cardiology Technician to join the Department of Neurology.

This position will perform patient care and display technical skills in the operation of Autonomic Equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

This is a new position to support our newly-established Goradia Dysautonomia Center. This is a full-time position is located in the Medical Center at our McNair Outpatient clinic.

Job Duties

  • Assists to perform cardio-pulmonary, pharmacological and stress procedures, TILT exams, electrocardiograms and other procedures. Maintains logs and records of the same.
  • Verbally reports life-threatening situations to the appropriate Registered Nurse / Physician.
  • Verifies physician’s orders for procedures.
  • Obtains clinical history, including medication history.
  • Properly labels all records and mounts for chart preparation.
  • Communicates effectively with patients of all ages, and family members, to contribute to the quality of ambulatory monitoring.
  • Participates in research protocols as directed by management and the Medical Director.
  • Assists physicians in clinic with patients, test and procedure scheduling.
  • Complies with clinic and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support or able to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Medical Assistant experience.
  • Previous Neurology experience.
  • Previous experience operating Tilt Tables.
