Job Summary
Admissions Counselors represent Augusta University at programs and events on and off campus to recruit new undergraduate students to AU. They coordinate recruitment-based projects and activities and serve as territory managers for an assigned geographic territory to enroll a set target of new students each semester. Excellence in customer service is expected for all interactions with prospective students, families, and community agencies. This position requires extensive travel within an assigned territory to provide institutional and admissions information to prospective and newly admitted students. Evening and weekend work is required.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Territory Management
Develop and execute recruitment strategies to meet first-year student admission funnel and overall enrollment goals from an assigned geographic territory. Analyze historical target population student data to develop recruitment initiatives and assess effectiveness.
Recruitment Events
Represent AU at on- and off-campus events and programs, providing institutional and admission information to recruit students to attend AU. Facilitate daily campus information sessions and campus tours.
Communication
Communicate with prospective students, families, and community agencies through in - person and virtual appointments, telephone calls, and emails. Participate in extensive outreach to students both in the assigned territory and holistically to drive student action and meet enrollment goals.
Special Populations
Assist with the recruitment of dual enrollment, international, transfer, and non-degree students as needed to support overall departmental enrollment goals.
Other Duties
Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned, to include participation in institutional, divisional, and departmental committees and work groups.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications
Experience with Slate CRM
Experience with student recruitment, admissions counseling, or related student-facing work
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of accounting, Excel, and cognitive ability for data analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
SKILLS
Strong memory for detail
Strong customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA
Reliable means of transportation
Ability to cover travel cost with reimbursement after the fact
Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to belonging
Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Evening and weekend work is required (work outside of the standard business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position).
Pay Band: B7
Salary: $43,888/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Driver's License Statement
The Human Resources Division will request a driver's history report for the identified top candidate(s) for this position. We will initiate this through our Background Check Vendor; this report will come from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license.
