Job Description

Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Clinical Research team. Our department provides comprehensive OB/GYN services at both Texas Children's Pavilion for Women (TCH PFW) and Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital (BTH).

This position will play a key role in the Fetal Center at TCH PFW. The selected individual will ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor regulations. Responsibilities include managing study logistics, facilitating communication between investigators and clinical teams, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting data integrity and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a passion for advancing women's health.

Job Duties

  • Screen, recruit, interview, consent, and randomize participants for industry-sponsored clinical research studies.
  • Educate potential and enrolled participants on study procedures, requirements, risks, and expectations to ensure informed participation.
  • Conduct participant follow-up visits and communications in accordance with study protocols.
  • Monitor participant safety and promptly identify, document, and report adverse events to the appropriate study personnel.
  • Collect and review clinical information through participant interviews and the EPIC electronic medical record system for accurate documentation and data entry into study databases.
  • Collect, process, package, and transport blood and other biological specimens according to study protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely study documentation and research records.
  • Coordinate participant scheduling and study-related activities to support protocol compliance and enrollment goals.
  • Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures following completion of department-provided phlebotomy training at Texas Children's Hospital Primary Care.
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with diverse and vulnerable patient populations.
  • Remain calm, professional, and responsive in urgent or high-pressure situations.
  • Manage a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. No experience required with preferred degree.
  • Ability to multi-task is critical to this role.
  • Experience with EPIC and other database systems.
  • Medical background and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
